Look of the Week: Velvet Dressing

Embrace Fall's Luxe Fabric Trend

The Fall 2016 runways saw velvet everything.  While a bold, head-to-toe ensemble might feel a little showy to pull off, you can still embrace the look in a way that fits your life, style and budget.

Try just one velvet piece at a time like this velvet printed skirt with leather detailing from Clover Canyon, size L, $75.

We've dressed it up with a gorgeous silk blouse with wide black trim from DVF, size 8, $55.  We love the trim peeking out from under the textured wool, crop jacket layered over the top, Valentino, size 8, $95.  A classic look when paired with anything.

A great knee-high boot pairs perfectly with the short skirt, Chloe, size 41, $195.  These amazing high-heeled boots with buckles and gold stud detailing normally retail for $895.

To finish the look, accessorize with a serpentine necklace with gold ring slide, Carolee, $75.  Plus we've found the perfect black clutch -- not too big, not too small --  from Maiyet, was $165, now $125.75.  This shoulder bag could easily carry an iPad or notebook to meetings during the day and then be tucked under your arm for a night on the town.
