AWARD-WINNING LUXURY RESALE NONPROFIT REACHES NEW PHILANTHROPIC MILESTONE OF OVER $1.8 MILLION
GLENCOE, IL — The Board of Directors of North Shore Exchange is proud to announce $380,000 in charitable grants to deserving Chicagoland charities, presented at a reception at Glencoe's Writers Theatre on Monday, September 23. These new grants bring the organization's total giving since its 2013 inception to over $1,880,000.
"We couldn't be prouder to support these worthy charities and reach this exciting new level of giving," said Doug Moss, President, North Shore Exchange. "Our customers, consignors, dedicated volunteers and staff all make our mission possible, and for that, we are truly grateful."
An award-winning, philanthropic resale shop offering upscale and luxury designer women's clothing and accessories as well as a curated collection of home furnishings and décor, North Shore Exchange offers its customers the best in luxury designer resale paired with its mission: to donate 100% of its profits to Chicagoland charities serving children and families at or near the poverty level.
"North Shore Exchange offers a unique, philanthropically-driven designer resale option in Chicagoland," noted Moss. "Our customers and consignors tell us that our mission of giving back to others in need makes shopping and consigning with us even more appealing, and their loyalty has made it possible for us to grow our charitable impact -- and our footprint -- in the region."
North Shore Exchange recently opened its third retail location at Skokie's Westfield Old Orchard shopping center, in addition to its thriving Glencoe and 900 North Michigan Avenue Chicago locations and its online store.
Representatives from each charity, along with volunteers, staff and guests gathered at a reception at Glencoe's Writers Theatre Monday evening for an award presentation.
Margo Koval, outgoing Chair of North Shore Exchange’s Philanthropy Committee, noted, “This year, 15 grants were awarded, along with a Community Grant to Family Service of Glencoe. Each grant is intended to further each organization's important work in the following categories meeting North Shore Exchange’s mission: domestic violence, elderly, healthcare, disabilities, homelessness, hunger, mental health, social services, and legal rights."
