Location: Warehouse, Highwood, IL; Part-Time, 15-20 hours per week

As the Intake/Pricer Associate, you will assist and handle basic receipt, pricing, and preparation of store merchandise in an efficient and timely manner to support the sales success of the organization.

Essential Job Functions & Expected Outcomes:  Your Accountabilities in the Role 

• Excellence in Merchandise Handling & Pricing for Store Sales Success: 100% of the job                                                 
• Assists in communication with consignors to facilitate receipt and pricing of merchandise in a timely manner.
• Researches consigned and donated merchandise to assess market value and mark the items to ensure proper sales price of product.
• Enters item data, including description and pricing, into database to ensure proper documentation and security of inventory.
• Reviews and organizes inventory to ensure optimal and timely placement for sale in store.  
• Assists in recruiting/mentoring new volunteers and consignors as needed to meet or exceed organizational goals.

Position Requirements:

• Education: A high school diploma or equivalent preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Experience: 1+ years of work experience in a retail environment, preferably with luxury goods. 
• Functional Skills: Strong customer service, retail sales, and inventory management skills. Ability to process orders timely, accurately, and effectively; ability to multi-task with a strong attention to detail and mathematical skill set.  Strong skill set in researching, showing, promoting, and pricing products or services.  Knowledge of methods for showing, promoting products or services that enhance sales would be a plus. Knowledge of the home decor, art and resale marketplace would be a plus.
• Excellent Communication Skills: High level of comfort communicating with consignors and customers in person, by phone and via email to ensure the best customer experience possible.
• Technology Aptitude/Skills: Basic PC skills including internet search strategies, database spreadsheet, email and credit card software utilization skills. Microsoft Office, Excel, and Google Docs skills required.
• Language Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills.

As a Driver/Mover, you will be responsible for the safe transfer and movement of stock from consigners, between stores, and with end customers.  Will also assist store managers with set up and placement of furniture in the stores to meet the organization’s goals.

Essential Job Functions & Expected Outcomes:  Your Accountabilities in the Role 

• Excellence in Safe Product Delivery & Set Up to Drive Customer/Organization Goals: 100% of the job                                               
• Transports furniture, home goods and supplies from consignor and donor locations, warehouse location, end customers, and between stores.
• Meets, communicates with, and coordinates the pickup/delivery of furniture and home goods with consigners/customers and store managers in a polite, professional, and timely manner.
• Organizes stored furniture inventory in warehouse to assist with organizational efficiency and inventory control (including labels, wrapping, photo set up, etc.)
• Assists and provides setup and takedown assistance for major events as needed to support the event. 
• Performs minor maintenance functions as directed to meet organizational needs. 
• Uses various moving equipment, dollies, push carts and shipping materials to move furniture and home goods without damage in a safe and efficient way. 
• Reviews processes and looks for enhancements to drive efficiencies. 
• Supports the organization in other duties, as needed, to help ensure overall organizational success.

Position Requirements:

• Education: A high school diploma or equivalent preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Experience: 1+ years of work experience as a delivery driver and/or mover, or similar work experience preferred.
• Certification(s): Valid Illinois Driver’s License required and safe driving record.
• Functional Skills: High attention to detail and organization skills with an ability to read and understand documents; strong prioritization skills as well as ability to multi-task and problem solve issues in a fast-paced environment. Flexible work schedule as needed to meet deadlines. Mechanically inclined with the ability to use hand tools and moving equipment. Solid math and inventory control skills. 
• Technology Aptitude/Skills: Basic PC skills.

• This role works with basic hand equipment and tools when performing the role such as cutters, hammers, mallets and screw drivers.
• This role routinely uses various moving equipment such as dollies, push carts, shipping materials, plastic wrap and blankets.

• The position may face exposure to variances in temperature and working around mechanical parts or confined spaces frequently.
• This position may face inclement weather conditions when traveling.
• Travel: 50% travel to various locations.
