Celebrate with us! North Shore Exchange announces $192,000 in grants to Chicagoland charities

NORTH SHORE EXCHANGE ANNOUNCES $192,000 IN GRANTS TO CHICAGOLAND CHARITIES BRINGING CHARITABLE GIVING TO $2 MILLION

LUXURY CONSIGNMENT NONPROFIT FOCUSES CHARITABLE DOLLARS
ON CHILDREN & FAMILIES DURING PANDEMIC

The Board of Directors of North Shore Exchange is proud to announce $192,000 in charitable grants to 11 Chicagoland charities. With the addition of these grants, North Shore Exchange has donated $2,000,000 since its inception in 2014.

"Homelessness, food insecurity and mental health issues among Chicago area families have skyrocketed because of the pandemic," said Wendy Serrino, President of the Board, North Shore Exchange. "Local organizations need our critical support. On behalf of all the volunteers and employees of North Shore Exchange, we’re so proud to be announcing these grants at this unprecedented time. And we’re grateful to our consignors and loyal shoppers for making it all possible.”

Like most retailers, North Shore Exchange closed its three retail sites for several months, impacting available grant money. NSE, which operates retail locations in suburban Glencoe, at Westfield mall in Skokie and in Chicago at 900 North Michigan Shops, offers upscale and luxury designer women's clothing and accessories as well as a curated collection of home furnishings and décor - and every purchase gives back to Chicagoland children and families in need.

"North Shore Exchange's unique model - designer resale that gives back to community - could not be more relevant than it is today," said Nicole Hayek, North Shore Exchange board member and Philanthropy Committee chair. "Our clients and customers know they're part of something bigger - they're making a choice to help a neighbor in need."

With giving focused this year on the acute needs of hunger, homelessness, health care and abuse, NSE is proud to announce the following organizations as recipients of its 2020 philanthropic grants:

1. Care for Real
2. Family Service of Glencoe
3. Fenix Centro de Salud Health Center
4. Greater Chicago Food Depository
5. La Casa Norte
6. Margaret’s Village
7. Northern Illinois Food Bank
8. Sarah’s Circle
9. The Harbour
10. The Night Ministry
11. Wings

The individuals served by these worthy organizations need our support now more than ever. North Shore Exchange is grateful to its shoppers, consignors, volunteers and employees for their help in making our mission possible.
